Oh Hey There Internet

If you’re into coffee and you like Montana, we may have seen you around the shop sometime in the last few years. Maybe you were sipping on some tasty beverages, maybe you’ve never been in but follow us online from another state. Both are fine with us, but we’ll give you the low down on what’s happening either way!

We are Legacy Coffee Roasters, a specialty coffee shop in Billings Montana, and we’ve been around a lot longer than our blog has. Established in 2015, we have had our doors open for a little over 3 years to date, which is absolutely crazy, and we are loving every bit of it. All that being said, now that we have our feet under us a little bit, we wanted to start a blog, sounds a little bit like a cliche millennial thing right? I mean, yeah, technically, but we really do want to share some of the things that the last three years have taught us, things that we messed up on, and some crazy stories in between. We wanted a place online where we could unabashedly be nerds about something we love: coffee and all the fun that comes with it.

But we don’t just love coffee, more than anything else we’re passionate about people. We hope that through this blog you’ll get to know us better, and maybe even get something for yourself out of it. Anything we can do to help fellow baristas, shop owners, roasters, or perhaps even a vehement coffee hater who needs something to take their mind off a problem for a little bit, seems worth it to us. On top of everything else, we want to have some fun while we’re at it. So we would love if you would follow along on this new little venture we are setting out upon.

Here’s a little bit of what you can expect in the coming months:

  • Coffee nerds talking about nerdy coffee things
  • A little bit about roasting!
  • Barista technique and coffee methodology
  • Opening stores, both first time and new locations
  • Problems we have run into in the industry, and how we overcame them (and how sometimes we didn’t)
  • Our guests and why we care so much about the people we get to serve
  • Mental health in the coffee world and workplace

And these are just a few of the things that we’re excited to cover!

We’re so happy to finally be posting and expanding the community here in Billings, and nationwide!

Remember to be kind, it’s not that hard :)
